Run the line through the hook eye and double back parallel to the standing line. Lay the tag end over the doubled line to form a loop.

Make six turns

Make exactly six turns with the tag end around the doubled line and through the loop.

Moisten and snug

Moisten the lines and pull the tag end to snug the six turns evenly.
